Old Town
An affluent and historic part of Chicago, Old Town offers deluxe housing, boutique shopping, terrific health clubs, comedy clubs and an array of excellent eateries. This is a thriving community in an urban setting. Many of the small, winding streets pre-date the Great Fire, they do not follow the grid system found elsewhere in Chicago. The Old Town Triangle Historic District, has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places and is very strict about new buildings therefore the architecture is both charming and vintage. Old Town is also home to St. Michael's Church and the Midwest Buddhist Temple.
Old Town is close to great public schools such as the LaSalle Language Academy and Skinner North Classical School which offers K-8 education with before and after-school programming in the arts. The Catherine Cook School also provides K-8 education with an emphasis on diversity and academic excellence. Other top private schools close-by include The Latin School of Chicago and Francis Parker which offer pre-K-12th grade education.
